Hello! My name is Mirjam and I am from the Netherlands. I am married and we have a rabbit and four guinea pigs to share our house with. I went vegetarian in October 1999 and vegan in September 2006. Veganism is a little more difficult here. Even vegetarian restaurants may not be vegan-friendly. My husband is an omni, but happily eats vegan burgers and vegan pasta dishes. At home, he mainly eats vegetarian which is his own choice. ;D When I was a vegetarian, we always ate vegetarian meals together. I am not sure if there is a deeper reason for him still eating vegetarian. He fully supports me being vegan and says I am right, but that he is too coward (his words) to make the switch, too. Oh well, a little step is better than nothing at all. Regards, Mirjam

Hi all,
i’ve been lurking around the board for months now getting recipes and info, but after becoming totally vegan in January i’m really struggling now! Eating out with my meat eating husband and family is a nightmare i end up with jacket potato and beans!!! And that’s just not fun anymore. I suppose i’ve got a little lazy as i seem to be living off junk food as it’s quick so i’ve decided to make a real effort and cook lots of tasty vegan food. Wish me luck!!! Roz

Hello newbie here Tabitha mentioned this site on Nakedvegan. So here I am. I have three rescue dogs. Sophie, Becky and new boy on the block Conor. I have been vegan for 5 yrs and veggie for 14 yrs before that. I support animals rights and the brave activists that do brilliant work. I enjoy chat forums and they are a good resource for vegans.
