Did the same Muay Thai class as LGB and can totally vouch for her clinches being strong, if anything because she just lifts me up with one arm to get an inside grip! I'm about 56 kgs, i.e about 9 st and I'm not joking: I was just lifted off the ground on more than one occasion - much to the amusement and admiration of the blokes that were present, LOL!! I've not really enjoyed this class the last couple of times that I went, and wasn't really planning on going to this one, but I'm glad I did, because I did really enjoy it. My front kicks aren't too bad, although we had to do a full round of them and they weren't at all consistent. We did a couple of rounds practising front kicks and hooks on each other and that wasn't entirely hopeless either. I'm by no means a natural, so I'm glad with every little bit of progress that I make ;D Elbows didn't go to my liking, so here's hope that it will keep dry for a few days so that we can practise in the yard (it tends to turn the heads of the people that are walking past, hehehe!). Learnt another couple of clever ways to avert kicks and getting away from a clinch, and did some throws. Was a good class, am looking forward to another one tomorrow! ;D

tortilla wraps? ;D i like them, but eating them with hooks and elbows could be difficult may i suggest finger work? ;D *hides from the raging wrath of LGbunny* Oooh tortilla wraps - that reminds me....work christmas dinner soon with deep fried chimi-changas and refried beans. Woot woot ;D Was the mention of food a ploy to distract me from my wrath?

It is partly because your clinch is good as well though, otherwise it wouldn't of held up when your feet were off the floor! Yeah, good plan ;D I need to practice them as well. I can either have power, or a good guard, but never both at the same time when doing elbows

Friday Since I woke up I have had the terrible feeling of whiplash in my neck I'm not joking! We did some neck exercises yesterday in M15 Muay Thai and I am really paying for it now. I always thought my neck was strong.....how wrong can you be! G-Camp at 5pm. Not a great class, I was too tired and sore to make the most of it. Normally I do 5 days training before I start feeling a bit overtrained. Guess I must have really really worked wednesday and thursday. Gym after G-Camp Push pressing - was planning a heavy session, but my shoulders were too tired from yesterday, so just did some light stuff with 30 kg and a double with 35 kg Lots of squat formwork Wide grip pulls: 4, 3, 3, 3, 2 - glad I can still churn these out even on a day like this! I shall be having tommorow off!

yeah, that was quite amusing LOL. It is partly because your clinch is good as well though, otherwise it wouldn't of held up when your feet were off the floor! That's one way of looking at it, not thought of that yet! ;D Went to same class as LGB on Friday and couldn't get into it either. One thing that annoyed me was that it was mega busy, so we had hardly any space Wasn't too sure about the combos either - somehow they were different and I couldn't get the hang of them. I might of been slightly faster with my punches, and apparently my kicks weren't too bad. It didn't feel right tho... Went out last night for a few hours. A small, totally laid back club (NO dress code, jeans and trainers totally fine does a drum n bass night every 3rd Friday of the month, and I just happen to love DnB ;D I'm so glad that I've reversed my "one drink allowed when going out" policy, and gone back to not drinking at all; I danced for about 2 hours, then got bored as they were playing really deep dub and went home. Went to bed, woke up again reasonably early feeling just fine, and decided to try and do a body combat class at the gym. This is the hardest class of the week and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to make it all the way through. Well, not only did I make it all the way through, but by some total miracle I had enough energy to do a whole upper body workout!!! ;D ;D Did: lat pulldown, chins, military press, bench, seated row, back extensions and rotator cuff exercise. I'm not keeping track of weights as I'm really kind of playing around with them at the moment, and not really too fussed about the numbers, as long as I can, with some effort, put 3 x 8 in with reasonable form. Tomorrow walking the rabble (dogs) will be my one and only exercise, my arms and upper body now feel suitably tired! Well chuffed with myself tho, for being so active after a night out! ;D

Saturday - Rest day. Feeling pretty run down and tired.
Sunday Squat Day - felt pretty rough and nearly bottled out of going to the gym completely. But managed to make it and get through the workout pretty sucessfully. Getting through workouts on days like this are the ones that really matter, it's so easy to train when everything is going well!
10 mins CV warm-up
Squats, 20 kg and 30 kg warm ups 40 kg 3 50 kg 3 60 kg 1 62.5 kg 5 x 5 - My first set was a bit high, but the second, third and fifth sets were all good. The fourth set was pretty all over the place, but got the work done, so pleased.
Bench new routine. I'm going to do the same as the last one, but up all the weights by 2.5kg. Should work out well, should be able to get 47.5 kg at the end. Today warm-ups with 20, 30 and 35 kg then 37.5 kg: 5 x 5 - about bloody time!!!! Finally got 5x5 on these, it was easy.
Tried to push press and do chins, but my tendons were too painful to do either.
Front squats - i'm a bit wary of hurting my knee again with these so have been avoiding them recently. 30 kg: 3, 3 40 kg: 3, 3, 3
Abs
30 mins CV on cross-trainer.

Today - G-Camp at trafford. Bloody hell was this a grind today. Managed to drag myself through the class but was truely awful! Billy had made some flapjack thingies which I thought would be a great pre-workout food (trek bars usually do the trick) - but they just sat like a lead weight in my stomach until I nearly threw them back up after some horrendous 15 right body kick, 15 left body kick combo thing we were doing. Could have been messy. Very. Note to self - don't try new foods 30 mins before a class! Mike still asked if I wanted to grade in April though, so that will be something to work towards

Billy hastens to add that warning had been given that they do sit like a brick in your stomach Went to same G-camp class, and thought it was bloody hard work today; the warm-up already damn near killed me! First combo was one with flying punch and elbow - at which I am completely crap, so got really frustrated with that. Glad to move over to the next one. We did some stomach/shoulder punching work, one attacking the other person just defending, of kind of which I got the hang of towards the end. Did a few more combos, knees felt pretty good this time, but by the end I was too knackered to even lift a foot for a low kick. Would like to grade by the end of April, but I'm afraid I'll need at least a couple of privates to get (flying) elbows etc up to scratch

i am estimating that my work outs are shorter than the time it takes you two to write up your workouts, let alone how long it takes you to do them ;D

i am estimating that my work outs are shorter than the time it takes you two to write up your workouts, let alone how long it takes you to do them ;D Hey, it's quality time! ;D And you haven't even mentioned the time we spend talking about it Doing well with your fitness regime yourself Mr VBB! Okay, as for today: Felt well rundown this evening, so much so that I was going to leave the idea of going to the gym. But by that time I'd already downed half a Blue Bolt (the Saino's own brand version of Red Bull), and I didn't fancy sitting at home with a load of energy all of a sudden, so off I went anyway. Glad I did because the Blue Bolt effect kicked in just as I got there! Did: leg press hamstring curl chins military press DB press seated row back extensions Abs - will hafta ask LGB what these are called, but in any case, you line up 2 benches, parallel with about a foot or so inbetween them. Heavy plate on one of them to stop it from moving. Then sit on the one bench, hook feet underneath the bench with the plate on it, lean back and sit back up. LGB once told me to do these weighed, so I held a 5 kgs plate and subsequently couldn't do any exercise at all for 2 weeks; must of torn all my abs fibres! Hence the reason I've now done them without added weight Then dreamt away underneath a hot shower until a voice over the tannoy said that they were gonna close in a minute. Time exercised: 45 mins Time needed to write up: 5 mins, including drinking tea and eating chocolate meanwhile

Great exercise though I see you did lots of legwork yesterday too. Of course, you could always......s***t!! My training.... Tuesday - Rest Day - had a proper day off pootling around Derby. Wednesday - Felt sooo much better this morning, back to normal form Deadlift day 10 mins warm-up on cross-trainer Deadlifts - speed week. These were much easier than last week, that's for sure. Although 'speed' wasn't really a factor - Lost my form a bit again, although it is not as bad as it was, i'm going to have to concentrate on it. 60 kg: 5 80 kg: 3, 90 kg: 1 100 kg: 1 106 kg: 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 Then did rack lockouts with just the step in the rack: 70 kg: 4 100 kg: 3 120 kg: 1 140 kg: 1 (PB) - this was really easy, so thought i'd lower the bar a bit (i.e. add another two plates under my feet) and do a bigger range of motion with it. But it didn't budge LOL. Actually I dropped the weight back to 110 kg and did a couple of singles with it from this height, and they felt hard. Last week I did the lockouts after the pulls, I should have this week as well. Nevermind, live and learn. Chins - Neutral grip 5, 5, 5, 5, 4.5! Damn, can't believe I missed the last rep to finally get 5x5 with these. As soon as I do, i'm going to add weight (ok, probably just a 1.25 kg plate in my pocket to start ) Tricep extensions (shoulder tendons still too sore to do any other pressing today. Hopefully they will be ok for friday, as I have a big push press session planned) - lots and lots of reps 20 mins cycling for knee rehab. Overall satisfactory session ;D

Thursday - M15 Muay Thai Not alot of CV, mostly technique, so wasn't really much of a workout. But it was a good session. My shins are still causing me problems, especially the one that really swelled up a month or so back. Since then it only takes the slightest knock and it swells and i'm in agony. It makes me feel like such a wimp I think I need to completely batter the hell out of it once and for all so the nerves go completely dead. Learnt some new clinch work stuff and did some more neck exercises. I can feel it today, but not as bad as last week! ;D

Hey, it's quality time! ;D And you haven't even mentioned the time we spend talking about it Bloody hell, if you add that up he would realise how little time I actually get to do any work Not a dicky from me! I see you did lots of legwork yesterday too. Of course, you could always......s***t!! Well, as I said "somewhere else" I would possibly squat if my "health club" would of got themselves a proper squat rack, rather than a Smith machine and trying to pass that off as one! Now I can hear you say that there are always DB squats, and you know what? You're right! Went to same TB class as LGB yesterday, did enjoy learning new techniques, was happy with my knees and blocks. However, the whole 'clinching and jerking at back of head' thing got a bit much, with as a result that I now have all the symptoms of a concussion. Seriously, no joke. I really wanted to train tonight and tomorrow but as things are I can just about keep upright when I'm on pain killers, so that's a no-go then. TBH I might give this class a miss for a while, because although we do learn things that we don't at G-Camp, I also seem to get injuries which means that I miss out on at least 3 training days after - that can hardly be conducive to any kind of training.
