Well, you'd better get fit for all that abseiling and whitewater rafting and parachuting. You'll have to vault over high walls and jump across wide ditches in the search for mistreated dogs and horses.

That must be lovely to wake up in the mornings and be surrounded by that beautiful scenery and less pollution. You're very lucky.

I love to swim - wish I had my own private lap pool. I try to walk out in the neighborhood or go to the gym, but the gym thing hasn't been happening much lately. I wish I could have a personal trainer so I knew that what I was doing was correct and best. No matter how much reading I do, I still feel overwhelmed and clueless.

Oh Limey! I wish we lived near each other. I am really good at motivating people in the gym!! Its about the only thing I am good at actually. The trouble with a lot of gyms is that they are too big and impersonal. They work hard on having wonderful equipment and bright, airy studeos etc., but they fall down on the trainers. I know you are only a youngster Limeykins, but speaking for the 35 plus brigade, or people who have had children, we are not all super confident at walking into a room full of people with perfect bodies in perfect expensive gym kit.
If I could own my own gym I would make sure all my instructors were mature, friendly, helpful and always followed up on programmes. I.e. didnt just tell you how to do a bicep curl one day and never go near you the next. People like to be asked how they are getting on, whether an exercise suits them. It really doesnt take much.
I hope you find a decent gym, or even a partner to go walking, swimming, jogging with you. I would do it in a shot if I could x

Thanks Tabs. ;D
I do belong to a YMCA here and the price is right for me, and I used to go on a regular basis. I don't feel as bad walking in there because of the way I look as much as I do because I am clueless about what to do. And yes, so far I have not met many helpful people in there, by way of employees. I should stay on the lookout for a trainer who I feel comfortable with and who doesn't cost much. That's another problem, I would like someone steay to help me along the way.
Ah well, I'm a lot better off than I was 2 years ago. ;D

I have just done 50 pressups (which hurt), 300 stomach crunches and if I can be bothered Im going for a walk down the river with my friends dog who loves to swim in it. He is a weimaramer (cant spell it) and is such a great big clumsy twerp of a dog. He tries to sit on my lap like a cat and makes happy dawg noises when I scratch his head.

Right now all I do regularly is run. The two previous years, I did triathlon. I'm in a sand volleyball league, but it's so basic it's hardly exercise. I was in a tennis league over the winter. I used to play in softball leagues every summer, but haven't in a while. I'll play just about anything.
