lol we're all human slaves to our companion animals ;d we got 3 dwarf hamsters which we change beddings for once a month & sand baths every couple days... and feed daily... yesterday we checked Selene's teabox/ sleeping home... she hadn't been sleeping in it for weeks... well, she FILLED it up with food LMAO... 3 quarters full of grains ;d ain't like she'd starve to death, we feed her ALL THE TIME hahahahaha also, she chewed her plastic sandbox & made a side door at it... lil architect ;D

Change bedding once a month! Even my ex changed the sheets more than that. Same time she had a wash I think.

Yeah my hammies were always changed once a week. More sometimes. Smelly lil fellas they were otherwise. Dont think I could have caged critters again unless they were rescues.

Yeah my hammies were always changed once a week. More sometimes. Smelly lil fellas they were otherwise. Dont think I could have caged critters again unless they were rescues. they're not caged but in huge plastic boxes we bouught & added shtuff in such as tubes, cubes, a wheel, food dish, sandbox, and this for each of them, they are pretty happy ;D Kira, the one Robo is quite stinky lol & bites some, but less than used to... and LUVS when we give food in a table spoon we think Kira fooled us & is a male, not a female... but have no proof coz can't flip over to check (unless we don't care to get bitten... hard...) good we had split from the twin, Bianca, or we'd have a bunch of them (Kira became violent at pubery) Bianca's a lazy sweetheart runs with determination ;D she luvs eating in my hand, but can't raise her yet ; as a Robo, she's too hyper & would fall, altho I believe that if we are to manage to carry one of the Robo's, it'll be Bianca, b/c she's so very sweet& doesn't bite, and ZEN & a bit of a narcoleptic Selene is a dwarf Siberian (aka winter white), bigger than the twins (altho they grew fatter with all the food we give 'em ) & she's very sweet, kisses us all the time, we carry her quite a bit, she's an obsessive hamster like I said all 3 have their personal exercise ball to run on the floor with & boy do they love it

Hello sorry no had chance to pop in recently, great to see some names from the past back! I use to keep all my hamsters in the plastic boxes - rotastack units all round the room, not had hamsters in years, dont know if Id have anymore now? Think most of the houses were given to a rescue. Have just been looking at a few old photos of some of my past rescues. Got boxes of photos tucked away but not digital back then

They are cute Alison! Its traumatic when they die I think. Ours only lasted a little while. Steve was devestated when his one died, Scott on the other hand drew a picture for his to take to "heaven" with him, watched me bury him, then dug him up 3 weeks later to see what he looked like! *feels like she gave birth to Michael Myers*

I dread to think how many little creatures are buired in our garden had so many over the years, since my first guinea pig when i was 6. Ive had at least 50 of the tiny russian hamsters, about 10 rabbits, 20 hamsters, 15 guineas, gerbils, mice, rats. All wonderful but yes Its sad when they go.

I agree, they are cute ! they usually all Some vidéos of ours www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=64C391A25221F95FNot sure where we got pics of them online... As far as their deaths, it may be sad, but we all go, don't we ? it's a cycle, and if you believe in reincarnation & so forth, than you'll know some ppl we knew come back to share our lives for a period in different forms, ie other than human. This is one reason why I am vegan, b/c this is part of my philosophy, just as much as death isn't the end ; that there is life just beyond our eyesight. We all continue our paths. However, I'm not saying don't feel sad, it's part of our emotional build-up, and thus, grieving is natural. One of the main lessons is that every Life & every thing has to be appreciated, respected, cherished, taken care of, to the fullest, either it lives moments in our perspective or in the Universe's ; a second or a billion years.

thank ya Sandra, Maisie, Fezza & Bunny & how have you been doing ? I'm ok thanks Wabbit. Not been around here much since I met the love of my life and he moved in with me and we got engaged. I have to make more of an effort to keep the house tidy now so that means less online time. I don't mind though since I'm 100 times happier with my life now

I always worry about digging them up when I bury more but so far I've only dug up one skull of a guinea pig. That was when I tidied the whole garden up. I think small animal bones must completely disappear after a while.

Wow congratulations Maisie ;D
Wabbit i dont think people think like that when they loose someone or a animal close to me. I know when people and animals i have loved died i dont think of the afterlife, i think of the now and how upsetting it is.
