What do I do?
I've just been prescribed medication containing gelatine. It's not for a life-threatening condition but I do need it.
My other medication isn't vegan but is at least vegetarian and is essential.
I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place on this. I don't want to compromise my beliefs but I do need to take this but find the thought of it repulsive.
I've searched and searched the net for a vegan alternative but can't find one.
I just don't know what to do?

Its a horrible situation to be in. My hubby was prescribed some medication with gelatin, he asked if they do it in table form instead of capsules and the doctor said they did so he is on them. Sometimes docs can give an alternative. I couldnt get a lactose free IBS table though so go without but if i eat well i can pretty much control it, not so easy for others though.

Take it if you need it, Squirrel. If you need the medicine and there's no alternative available, what choice do you have? Don't compromise your health. Why don't you write to the pharmaceutical company that produces it? They need to know that many people find gelatine unacceptable.
