I use mineral makeup - bare escentuals and lilylolo. Not sure they are vegan or not though as I began using them when I was veggie. BE is registered as cruelty free on the US Peta site (although not sure what that means for the UK), and Lilylolo claim they don't test the product or ingredients on animals (see point 14 here www.lilylolo.co.uk/lily-faq.php#53 ) not sure what cut off date they work to though. I'm using up the dregs of what I have and then will have to have a rethink if they aren't vegan.

Thanks vegancupcake I saw some people talking on another site how you need non synthetic brushes to make it work properly and noticed that Lilylolo sell animal brushes, think it was sable

you can apply it wet with a synthetic sponge that Lilylolo sell, as well as with a brush - you just get a different coverage. Or you can mix the powder with your moisturizer to get a tinted moisturizer / liquid foundation. Pretty versatile stuff - you just need to play around with it to find out what works best for you. I think, so long as it's a decent synthetic kabuki (you need the bristles close together to get a decent coverage), you should be fine - if you google synthetic kabuki uk a few should come up. Just Beauty seem to be selling them.

I started using lilylolo recently, I would recommend the make-up, especially with their kabuki which is vegan and feels like velvet on your face! It states so on the site, so it is safe

I'm a make up junkie!! I have loads but I'm in the process of clearing out / using up stuff that isn't vegan that I bought ages ago. I use lily lolo too and their vegan kabuki is awesome! I've also just discovered Inika which is all vegan - even their mascara, but I haven't tried anything from it yet. www.inikacosmetics.co.uk/Scripts/default.asp. This is where I'm getting my next mascara from I think! I make my own mineral eyeshadows (not foundation yet but I have got the stuff to make it with). I've made loads of eyeshadows for me and for gifts for friends. Also, not mineral but Lush's sister co B Never Too Busy to be Beautiful, is all vegan and their stuff is so cute, the packaging is glittery and jewelled! I have some of their eyeshadows and an eyeshadow brush (also all synthetic) - they're awesome.

Wow, where do you get stuff to make eyeshadows Sal?? I love trying out different make-up brands, I'm trying to only use natural, chemical free now though. Have you found any good natural mascaras? I have tried Lavela and echo bella and some others but they are never as lengthening and thickening as the more 'unhealthy' ones and I like having big eyelashes

ooh I make loads of stuff, eyeshadow is just mixing the powders together so as long as you wear a mask, it's really easy! Some ingredients I've got in this country and some I've brought over from the states - but that costs a bit too much to do very often. www.aromantic.com do quite a few different colours for make up. We don't have the greatest selections of Micas over here, as they do in the US. www.sensoryperfection.co.uk - they are a candle making supplier, but they have got a massive range of coloured micas which are imported from a US supplier I've used before so they are safe for cosmetic use, but you'd have to check with the owner which ones contain carmine and which ones are not lip safe (as not all colours are). There's so much I could rattle on about but it'd bore everyone stupid so just PM me if you want any more info, i'd be happy to share. I haven't had much luck with the natural mascaras - I like long lashes too! I tried making my own and it really didn't do much for my eyelashes at all. I've got a vegan one from Stargazer (available on ebay) but it's not a natural one and it ain't great either!! I'm going to try the inika one next and B Never .... as well might be worth a go. Dr Hauschka (sp??) do a natural one, but I doubt it's vegan! I'd check out Inika and Be Never... (just go to the lush site) - they list all their ingredients and both look alright! edit: just did a search for vegan mascara and found this ... www.soorganic.com/product.php?productid=1112 It is labelled as natural and looks like it's vegan too!

I like the B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful mascara. It's thicker and more robust than the other vegan ones I've tried.

Cool, I might get that one next, gives me an excuse to buy more eyeshadows from them anyway! They had a stand at Clothes Show in December (I work on that show) and I had a lovely chat with the sales lady who was vegan as well. We were discussing how annoying it was that most make up has beeswax or carmine in!

I think I will try B never next too. Actually I think the beauty without cruelty mascara is good, it isn't natural but it is nice and thick (so cheap too). I'll give up on natural mascara, it can't be that bad if all the other products I use are body-friendly! I might be too lazy to make eyeshadows etc....

I ordered the stargazer mascara which is sold on ebay as it said it was vegan but when it arrived it listed cera alba on the ingredients list (beeswax)!! not happy!
But the lady is refunding it for me, I just need to send it back.
I bought the be never mascara too and it's nice, but it takes a while to dry so you have to be careful not to blink too much. I ordered Inika's too. I'm gonna order a few different ones to do a comparison!

I use minreal make up from bare escentials. The stuff I have ordered is vegan. I got some mascara that is dry and therefore doesn't contain beeswax. I'll find teh link.
The foundation is amazing, the best stuff I have ever used. I like it as it doesn't have SLS or parabens in it.
