My brother joined me to TVS last year but I have never even received any literature from them, I didn't realise I was supposed to.

Thats worrying. You normally get an introduction pack including a membership card (which you need to get discounts), and literature about the AGM when it comes up. Have you been receiving the magazine?

No, I thought it was just a donation to their cause I didn't realise I was supposed to get anything. (I joined Viva as well and only received the magazine once.)

Hi Poppy, ring them and they'll post it to you. I think the move to Brum confused things a bit, I've not had problems with my membership.
Except now I wonder if I would be better off telling them I won't rejoin until the council is sorted.
Veggiesosage, the long report etc sent to members for the agm - is it on their site the way it is supposed to be? contains a lot of resolutions to reinstate Vanessa Clarke, who was removed from the council at last years agm, and ensure that she could not be removed again. A lot of detailed and defensive discussion in there.
Then all members got a separate detailed four page letter from her partner, Stephen Walsh, about how she was unjustly removed and should be reinstated. He doesn't seem to accept that any criticisms of her conduct could be valid. Usually when people are this unhappy they go off and start another organisation, but they seem to have decided on an AGM slugfest.
Worst of all, according to the report some council members refuse to adopt a councillors code of conduct, which the charity commission would like to see. Frankly, how do you trust people that will not accept a code of conduct?

Poppy, the membership covers subscription to the mag, get them to send you the back issues of The Vegan which you should have received.

There's no info on their website other than brief details and an agenda. No annual report or accounts (despite there being slots for them) and certainly no minutes of the council meetings like their articles off association say there should be.

I have found out that there is a response to Stephen Walsh from Alex Bourke of the Vegan Society, not sure if it is personal or official, but it says it can be circulated to all Vegan Society members.

I see the vegan Society has finally sorted out a way for members to get to see the Council minutes, as per the resolution at the last AGM.
That was my idea that was ;D
I really ought get round to rejoining...

Yes i've just joined up to that.
Won't be there on Saturday as there is a Viva! veggie roadshow in Leeds, i have voted for Council though, and appointed a proxy for the meeting.
