Im looking for recipes for someone who is going to need to follow a 'low residue diet' prior to x ray of the stomach area The hospital diet sheet is rather useless as its geared for meat/fish eaters  no veggie or vegan alternative (what a suprise) the person concerned is veggie but has very small amounts of dairy/egg in their diet. I shall recommend vegan recipies So the hospital list says allowed foods are white pasta/rice with no sauce, mashed potatoes, white bread, plain biscuits, sugar, fizzy drinks, white wine (?) clear soup, orange squash, it also says white meat/fish (this person had said they were veggie forbidden foods include: baked pots and chips, vegetables and fruit, beans/lentils/pulses, any cereals, brown breads, anything creamy or dairy foods. The staff have been asked if tofu is allowed and they of course had no idea what it was So apart from plain rice/pasta and mash its hard to know what else to suggest im wondering if soya alternatives are ok? that would count as the protein side of things. If anyone has any ideas please post many thanks!

Tofu should be ok as all the fibre has been removed - same as with soya milk.
