I have no clue about natural remedies, but would be very interested in seeing a naturopath. I just worry about finding the right one and the price, since it's not something my insurance would cover. I don't know what the costs are like over there, and to be honest, I'm not even sure what they are over here. I would like to find something natural to help with my depression. I'm currently on medication and I feel ok, but I don't like taking it and in all honesty, it basically deteriorates my sex drive completely. That's not necessary.

Well, luckily my depression isn't so bad that I can't go without medication. But I have no tolerance for a lowered/nonexistant sex drive. Nope.

A naturopath would definitely be good for depression, Limey.
I know when I was talking to my naturopath about my mum and the amount of anti-depressants she was on, she was telling me how successfully that patients can be treated with more natural remedies, so may be worth a visit.

Ohh! My Earth Fare has a group who meets there every 2nd Monday of the month for "anyone interested to learning more about the wonderful benefits of Traditional Homeopathic Medicine!"
Whee, I think I might go. The next meeting is this upcoming Monday and it's at a time I could actually go. ;D

Oh and a seminar for "Organic Food Choices: Dr. Michael Smith, a Naturopathic Physician, will discuss how to make sound food choices with out braking the bank. Learn what you need to know concerning the quality of your food and why organic foods can make a difference in your life."
I think this particular doctor has his ad all over Natural Awakenings, an alternative wellbeing mag that is put out here...usually monthly or bimonthly. Might go to that one, too. ;D

i like to use some natural therapies including essential oils. my favorite is peppermint oil to cure headaches. it's nice and soothing to gently rub around the hairline (forhead and temples) and on the back of the neck. it's also nice to sniff it gently. very soothing.

Not heard of that remedy Sarah, thanks I will try that. I still have some peppermint oil from when I bought it to deter ants

I had a colonic today (OK that probably will disgust some of you, but I love 'em) lymphatic drainage massage and naturopathic consultation today, so I'm nice and detoxed now (or on the way anyway!)

We use only natural medicine where ever possible...we haven't vaccinated our small person, using homeopathy and diet to keep her in as good a shape as possible (together with the all-powerful breastmilk!)....she had her first ever cold last week...it lasted 12 hours.
In our house.....my milk is used like the windex...on insect bites, Helen's scratched eye, heat spots, conjunctivitis, burns, ear infections....
My Grandad uses olive oil in much the same way...

hmmmm.....would be handy to squirt in the pan while cooking....
or for salad dressings in the many restaurants I've been to who can't seem to decide if their salad dressing is vegan or not!

Well, I haven't done it myself but I do know someone who once ran out of cow juice when the vicar was at her house....so she topped it up....he said it was the best tea he'd ever tasted!
