Now as most of you know, Tabi and I are the mad culprits (and anyone else is welcome to join us) that are gonna hopefully do the London Marathon for the animals next year. As I've just started training (will be going for a run or cycle this evening... not sure what yet, will see how I feel) and am doing some sort of pretty strenuous exercise around 5 times a week now was wondering if anyone had any tips about what they ate prior to exercise. I know carbs and potassium......... Bananas here I come are good for energy levels, but would love to get some input from others as to what helps their exercise routine go that little bit better. Thanks all!

I always eat 100-200 calories before heading out for a run. Either half a Clif Bar, or a small fruit smoothie. If it's a long run, I take a couple Clif Shots (gel) with me.

Tiggs I'll be here with you come fall, when I start a running program. I'm kind of excited about it. It's not for any charity or special event, just a regular run thing. We'll have Juice as our guide. ;D

I need to get back into my running programme. Kind of slacked when I moved house.
I still get a couple of hours exercise walking most days with the dogs, but think I will try and get myself motivated and go to yoga tomorrow eve.

Porridge oats are good for energy and slow releasing somethings ;D
Pasta is good for the carbs.
Lentil soup? anything with bean/lentils etc.
