I hadn't heard about this until today; thought it might be of some interest to a few people here. "Earthlings" is a 2005 documentary on mankind's treatment of animals. It's narrated by Joaquin Phoenix (who I have a ridiculous amount of respect for) and covers a range of topics including the pet and food industries, experimentation, bull fighting and circuses. I'm not sure it's particularly balanced, but the images and practices shown still stand. I think it's out on DVD, but it's also on Youtube: 1 youtube.com/watch?v=GhxKnys7Ryw2 youtube.com/watch?v=7sRiH_Owq9U3 youtube.com/watch?v=N8U9dw-9U4E...and here: video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1282796533661048967I should add that I haven't watched the whole thing yet, only part 3 from the Youtube links. I've seen a few clips from the rest and it's pretty horrific... particularly the Kosher slaughter. I need to psyche myself to watch the whole thing in one sitting.

It is a difficult documentary and Narrative to get your head around! Horrible ways humyns treat Animals. The way it is legal, is actually insane! Auschwitz, anyone?
who has seen that sickening vivisection clip, of a university in america, laughing, smoking pot, whilst torturing a monkey, stoned off their faces! (from early 70's or 80's, i'm not sure! It is, however, a rather famous clip).
sick, they deserve a kicking!
however, this maybe shown somewhere in Earthling's... not sure! should be on youtube somewhere, if you're not already irate about these bastards this clip will surely make it possible.
If you don't understand, or think i'm babbling on, buy Keith Mann's (From Dusk 'Til Dawn!) book, it's described in there somewhere.

A difficult thing to watch, I cry just hearing the first 5 minutes of narration.
But it's a useful activism tool.
