OK, so to save the environment and also our pockets, time to dig out those old traditional cleaning methods that cost less to both. Now we've talked about the Eco-balls, but what else is there? Bicarbonate of soda........ Excellent stain remover..... supposed to be good for cleaning teath also. Vinegar.......... Excellent all round antiseptic and cleaner, esp in the kitchen and bathroom. Who's next?

essential oils , good for wiping down surfaces to disinfect and leave the room smelling gorgeous. Bowl of hot water, a couple of drops of the oil, dip in your clean cloth, wring out well, and wipe away... ;D

I love that programme. How can people let their houses get into that sort of state though? I would be soooooooooooooo embarrassed to let everyone see my place on telly if it was as bad as those places are!

I have my bank statement sent to me online............ Saves a bit of paper!
Alot of companies that do bills are opting to do that now.

In the last few weeks we've started buying from the organic fruit and veg delivery people so are saving on plastic packaging as everything is reusable boxes which get sent back and am also now using Biocat cat litter which is recycled paper now which is completely biodegradable so reducing the amount of waste going to landfill. I've also been buying block soaps with no packaging from organic stores or lush rather than plastic bottles so we have alot less waste going in our bin now.
Every little helps.

Ok, this is not new - but bring a bunch of canvas bags with you when you shop, so you don't use the paper or plastic from the store. I have yet to do this, though, myself. Best bet is to get them from thrift stores, so you don't pay as much, but I can never find any when I hunt for them. Recycle your plastic bags. I don't know about in the UK, but lots of grocery stores here have bins for your old plastic grocery bags. I do the recycled cat litter and I also love How Clean Is Your House?. So gross, but such a good ending.
