I think we should permanently remove the Karma system. I was the victim of a smite campaign when I first joined, I still don't know who it was and have no idea why but I know I found it quite upsetting, especially as I was a refugee from bullying at another forum. It adds nothing apart from a means to get at people. Also, those who don't have such high Karmas can feel a bit left out.
Is it not possible to trace who smites who?

No, there's no way of telling.
It can only really be left to the imagination and guesswork as to who smites or exaults who. All I can do is tell the IP address of people and guests online.
Sowwee!

Well, the function appears to have gone. Good thing imo.

Well, the function appears to have gone. Good thing imo. I say good, too, but ONLY because I had no flippin' idea how people went about exalting and smiting. I know what it means. My friend goes to another forum where they have Rep (reputation) dots. Someone can give them a good dot (green) or bad dot (red) and the person has a list of green or red dots under their username (like the stars here).

I think that to be honest (sorry Maisie am answering your question in a different thread) we had so much good response on removing it, that it is probably for the best to leave it there as people were not only getting upset about phantom smiters, the quieter members felt a bit excluded when the karma was lower than others so it looked like favouritism.
I'm personally for keeping the karma system removed as it stops all the bickering and upset, unless alot of you tell me you want it reinstated, then I wil certainly have a think and see what we can do.

I think things are much better as they are now. Its a shame because we did have some fun with it at first, but on reflection, no I wouldnt want to see the function reinstated.

That's only because you were enraged with jealousy as I was obviously the most popular one.

Didn't know where to put this so I thought I'd just put it here.
I've just noticed, on the MCL Members' Noticeboard page is an advertisement for Vegan Dates and Mates. They have events in Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds. So, if you are looking for a vegan lover, this could be your chance.
Of course, being a woman-magnet, I have no need of such things, but from the goodness of my heart I thought I'd pass on the info.

Well, I'm moving to Machester in a couple of months so I might check it out. What is MCL btw?
I'd probably end up crying and begging at some poor woman's knees by the end of the night though!! ;D ;D
