I thought the phantom smiter was banned?
Has he rejoined? Is there another smiter amongst us.

Caprita's been smited 3 times in the last hour or so. I suspect we have some 'new members.' The guy's really in need of psychiatric help.

I'd like to see the Smite button done away with as it's open to abuse by vindictive people with axes to grind. (Which has started up again against Caprita) Any teacher will tell you that you 'train' kids by rewarding appropriate behaviour and ignoring the inappropriate. (It works with other animals too!) In the case of Caprita's foes, we are dealing with childlike behaviour, from a mental midget. Having to counteract vindictive smiting means that I'm unable to exalt anyone, which frustrates and annoys me. It would be nice if others with a social conscience would keep an eye out for vengeful smiters and take approprite remedial action. Let me know if you're willing and able to do this and I'll exalt the shit out of you. ;D Am not sure if the software will let me use just the exault button, will post a message on the Proboards support forum today and see if anyone else with a Proboards forum has been able to do that. The only option if that doesn't work is if we either a) Temporarily remove the karma system until we find who the smiter is? or b) Permanantly remove the karma system If everyone is happy for me to do either of the 2 then I will happily do this, but I would like people's feedback. Thanks all!

Wonder if Feral's superpowers will be able to do anything about it

I suppose one option would be to have a minimum number of posts before the smite button becomes active - dunno if that is possible, either.

I've seen that happen on other forums, Pob.
Frankly I wouldn't mind the karma system being removed.

OK, have just checked and the only options are to leave the karma system on or off.
As it seems to be upsetting this nice place, it may be an idea to temporarily remove it, and hopefully this nasty sicko will go away, then reintroduce it when the person who has nothing better to do gets bored and moves on to pastures new???

Yeah - I got no problem with that, either.

OK, have TEMPORARILY removed it, with plans of reintroducing it in the near future, touch wood.
It's a shame that the juvenille smiter has to attempt to spoil things in such a pathetic attempt to basically destroy the karma on this forum, but we won't let it, we'll just laugh at their attempts! ;D

I suppose we've had our fun with the exalt button anyway. Perhaps the novelty has worn off anyway. Has he joined as someone else then?
I hope now that Ferals a mod she wont take away my God status! *worries*. Perhaps if Im nice to her she could make me a *Goddess*. *phones deliveries to arrange for chocs and flowers for Bogeyes*.

Removing the karma thing does seem to be the best thing for the time being.....if it's not there for the phantom smiter(s) to play with hopefully they'll get bored and go for good!!
