Does anyone know if Wetherspoons pubs do any vegan grub?

yeah they're quite good as pubs go - the vegeburger is vegan, as is several other bits, and some of the staff know what beers are vegan too.

Thanks S&L, I might try it out tomorrow, some of the stuff on their site looks promising, I'll just have to double check with the staff when we're there.

I usually go to a Wetherspoons when I go to Essex. There is supposed to be a curry dish on the menu that is vegan, but Ive never seen it. The vegeburger is ok but usually all dry and shrivelled up because its been over microwaved by a 17 year old who wants to go home and snog his girlfriend. (They buy everything pre cooked and just warm it up).

They also do a couple of suitable jacket spuds.
The one with beans and the roasted vegetable one. Ask them when doing the salad though not to put the yogurt dressing but the vinegarette dressing one.
I found one of the Wetherspoons did that once and was a nightmare trying to sift the salad out the way.
I think their curry night on Thursdays has a few choices but if you look on their website from what I can remember I think it lists the vegan choices.

Thanks tiggs, we managed to get our shopping done by lunch and had to come back to feed the kitties so gave it a miss for today. I'll call in for a bite next time I'm there.

I like their burgers and have enver ahd a problem with them. However I found out the other day (from staff) that things such as hash browns are cooked in the same stuff as their meat is. Their chips and burgers arent but the hashies are.

Just a recap on this ... you may want to check that the burger is vegan before ordering it. I ordered one before Christmas and this time it came with cheese in it (although I have had it before and it's just been veg.) Fortunately I could smell it so I didn't have to eat it. The only thing I was able to eat (apart from a spud) was the chips. They told me the curry etc had cream in the sauce.
