Phew, glad to learn I'm not the only one who sings to pets. The guinea pigs veggie time song goes like this: "Guinea piggies, little guinea piggies, little guinea piggy wiggy woos, baby guinea piggy wiggy woos. Guinea piggies, beautiful guinea piggies, beautiful guinea piggy wiggy woos, beautiful guinea piggy wiggy woos". Cuddle Time song goes: "Millie poo, Millie poo, we love you, Millie poo, we love you, Millie poo, yes we do Millie poo" (substitute Millie for whichever guinea pigs name)
Can't believe I'm posting this on here as only my kids knew about it. *whispers* don't tell anyone or they'll be carting me off ;D

I don't talk to my 'pets' but I do talk to my companion animals, all the time! (I don't like the term 'pet,' as it reminds me of that sleazy bastard, Hugh Heffner! ). When I'm approaching Martin's aviary (he doesn't know it's an aviary) I always say "Where's my lovely boy?" which brings him out of his box. I like the phrase 'lovely boy' - I think I picked it up from the Welsh sergeant on It Ain't Half 'Ot Mum. When I go to bed, I give each dog a tickle behind the ear and say "Goodnight, have a nice sleep, see you in the morning" I often wonder what they think it means.

When I go out to see the rabbit I sing "Oh Mabbit! Where are you!" I dont know why, I never call him Ringo. Just Mabbit or MabbityWabbit. If you say this to him he kind of shakes his head about and leaps from one room to the next. For some reason, he hates me catching him, even though its for a cuddle and some freedom. Hes ok when hes in the house or in the garden, its the initial catching that he objects to. He also growls, but it sounds like a "hmpppph!", and will bite you when you put food down for him.
I have told him I will sell him to Glenn Close if he continues to bite me, but he didnt see the film, so it means nothing to him.

Yes, I most certainly do and it's in the most ridiculous, annoying babyish voice. ;D A voice I usually cannot tolerate coming out of anyone's mouth, so it's beyond me why I do it. I'll talk to Cobi about anything and I love to pick him and dance around with him. He's chill about it. He talks back to me and it's mostly done with his mouth closed.

Yes. My dog recognizes a lot of words, so I have to watch what I say sometimes.

Of course I talk my pets. I think most pet owners do. It is not very deep, but it is affectionate. I have a great excuse when I am thinking out loud: I was just talking to the guinea pigs!

I used to talk to my cat all the time. I was also having a conversation about "turn the cow" the other day with my bro's girlfriend. (I didn't know it had a name til she enlightened me.)
You know where you are driving along the motorway and you see a cow in a field and you shout MOOOOO at it and see who can get it to turn around. We decided that either they can't hear you or they hear it so often they just think "YEAH YEAH MOO - whatever! shut it... "
It's not just me (and her) ... right?

11 cats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow!
I went on our local rescue sight the other day (where we got our FIV mog Soldier) and there is another FIV mog - 7 years old, male, white with a splog of tabby here and there. His name is Monty. I would like another cat, but our two have settled into a nice routine together and it would throw the dynamics all out of whack.

Yes, cats are very touch about new arrivals aren't they? I had 5 rescue cats to start off with and then a feral cat decided to have her 6 kittens on my kitchen floor...........all 7 of them have stayed ever since! It took a while for the others to accept them and even now I have to make sure one or two of them are kept apart or all Hell breaks lose!

God sandra, I don't know how you cope! These two are just about all I can deal with atm, they fall out every now and again and the fur flys... sometimes it's when we're out and we come home to clumps of fur all over the place... and then there's the fighting for space on the bed, constant demands for food & attention etc lol

Sounds like Pat and Soj! Soldier responds to me singing "Sowjer bloooooo we love youuuuuuuuuuuuu" very loudly and Pat glares and lays his ears back when I sing "Pat the fat cat, a fat cat called Pat" to him.
