I haven't consumed vinegar often, but I have recently discovered that some are derived from barley. That would not be good for me, since I am wheat and gluten intolerant. On the other hand, I have heard that some other vinegars are derived from grapes. I presume that would be so for red or white wine vinegars.
Does anyone have any insight on vinegar(s)?

Would there actually be any gluten left in a vinegar, even if it was derived from a grain with gluten in it? I didn't think gluten was very soluble, if at all.

Thank you, pob. veggiesosage, I would go about it in a "better safe than sorry" outlook. Wheat and gluten do not agree with my body at all. I'll spare the details.
