The one I get is made mostly from roasted red peppers with lots of garlic, chilli and other spices. It's Moroccan I think. You can buy it from Sainsbury's (they usually keep it with the olives or in the posh foods section).

I just used some to make a veg chilli. Saves messing about with measuring out spices.

Harissa is damn good as a general chilli seasoning. Lovely well rounded not too hot taste.

I have tried on several occasions to make my own hummous, as I make most stuff from scratch now. However I have failed on each occasion. I have used several recipes. But is always turns out too dry, or too garlicy....

Pob makes nice hummous, but I still prefer the shop stuff.
