First so you don't get me wrong I'll start by saying I love peta and support them and their work.
But while they go on about how cruel the process of meat etc is, it gives the impression that meat is ok as long as the animals had happy lives etc.
So we will get all these laws like banning battery hens and then people will think its acceptable to eat meat when in the animal rights arguement the actual KILLING bit is also wrong. Firstly, NO usable method of killing is "humane".
If a person has a happy life does that justify cutting it short? No
By chatting about cruelty involved in dairy & eggs it ignores the fact that neither industry could survive ethically without the chicken/beef inustry.
They're basically giving out the wrong message.
Of course they should talk about the bad living standards but not all the time!! They aren't helping the overal public opinion at all!
Also, about fur - not ALL animals are skinned alive (though I agree their welfare isn't good at all and lots ARE skinned alive) and people know that so it gives the impression that peta are exaggeraters, and they don't listen. It loses them credibility.
Their message should also make clear that NO unnecessary killing is humane or acceptable no matter how happy the creatures life/quick the killing was.

By pointing out the cruelty with their vids (i.e. Meet your Meat) they no doubt turn a lot of people veggie. Sad as it may be, pointing out the obvious is what most of the human race needs showing to them in order for them to listen.
