Thank You for Helping Elephants in India! Thank you for letting French jeweler Cartier know that elephants don't belong in polo events. PETA generated widespread media coverage about the event by holding a demonstration outside Cartier's headquarters in Paris and, along with five other groups, protesting at the polo match in the Indian city of Jaipur on November 18. After investigating the treatment of elephants just prior to the polo match, PETA discovered grossly substandard living conditions and beatings. Elephants stood amid their own waste for hours in the hot sun and were provided with no drinking water or adequate shelter. Trainers prodded the elephants with bullhooks and beat them with sticks. Nearly all captive elephants in India have been captured from the wild. Taken away from their families and homes, these highly endangered elephants suffer a short, painful life characterized by chronic physical ailments and social deprivation. Please help us ensure that this is the last time that Cartier uses elephant abuse to promote its jewelry by demanding that the company enact a policy against the sponsorship of elephant polo games in the future. Click here to help stop Cartier's cruel and ridiculous sponsorship of elephant polo games now. getactive.peta.org/campaign/cartierThank you for everything that you do for animals. Sincerely, PETA
