My older son went to beavers last night with his brother and they were doing a healthy eating badge. He, by choice, picked wholemeal bread, cucumber and lettuce for his sandwich despite ham, cheese and white bread being on offer. He then proceeded to debate with one of the leaders about cheese being healthy. There was unfortunately mini pancakes on offer and when he asked me I said I didn't think they would be vegan, he promptly burst into tears because he had eaten one. Bless him, he'd assumed pancakes were vegan because I make them at home for him. Denise

Bless his heart! A little bit different to my conversation with my son the other day before he went to Australia. I asked him not to eat Kangeroo meat while he was over there because they ripped the joeys out and stamped on them and he told me not to poison me with my vegan bullsh*t. (((((hugs))))) to Denises lil treasure

Ugh Tabitha. Maybe mine will grow up with different views, but when he makes informed decisions like this he can be a force to be reckoned with Denise

Thats fantastic Denise! My kids were teenagers when I went vegan and they just thought I was mental My son (same one I was talking about earlier) has been watching the free range chicken programmes on the tv and announced a couple of weeks ago that he wanted to be a vegetarian with a view to being vegan. I was so pleased. Pob said not to pressurise him and I vowed not to, but I googled a student vegetarian book and ordered it for him on Amazon. Of course the inevitable happened and he texted me a week ago and said "Sorry mum I got p*ssed and ate a bacon sarnie...". Also his father had said to him "If you go vegetarian you can go and live with your f*cking mother". Nice Good Luck to Darkgreen jnr. P.s. This is obviously Tabitha talking under Pob's name cos I forgot to log in as me!!!

Tabitha, he might still get there, he is obviously thinking along the right lines and to be quite honest if my husband can convert there is hope for everyone. Perhaps I share too much info with my son, I was rather horrified when he started shouting at people in the cereal ailse of the supermarket not to buy a certain brand Denise
