We've jsut found out that we shoudl have insurance for our stalls and so far the cheapest we have found is around £2-300 mark!!! Does anybody know of any cheaper ones that we can get. It's a real problem becuase without this we dont want to he any more stalls but without them cant raise money for our local AR group or do any on the awareness raising whihc is so badly needed. The problem is Maisie if something happens to somebody at or around your stall they have a tendancy to blame the stall holder and sue you. While this might seem fanciful it only takes somebody to trip over something or something to blow over and hit somebody and it can all become a world of hurt. VW, I had a look through the Veggies directory and couldn't find anything. However, Veggies and the Sumac Centre in Nottm presumably have insurance too so it may be worth you emailing them and asking. www.veggies.org.uk/

Veggiewoman, if you join the National Market Traders Federation, you get free insurance, specifically: • Public liability claims up to £5 million • Product liability claims up to £5 million (including food poisoning and ear piercing) • Up to £10 million employer's liability claims - this cover is required by law if you employ someone, even on a casual basis Single/Sole Trader Membership costs £74.00 or £111.00 for Dual Membership. (I think you can get 3 or 4 person membership at a reduced rate too). Their website is new.nmtf.co.uk/

www.holisticinsurance.co.uk/im told these guys are good but - if your doing a stall as part of a larger organization such as the veg society etc they may cover you on their own insurance its illegal to not have insurance but they will only chase you in the event of an accident, if you actually have some money to give them quite often these claims come from opportunists looking to make money & their solicitors wont really both as they work on no win no fee but i you want to do the bigger events then you will need it as 5m is now the usual lower limit hope hat helps RC
