Here's an idea for a vegetable-based dye for their blackcurrant drink: blackcurrant juice? Just a thought.
Beetle dye - I suppose she means cochineal - is a red food colouring (E120), used in most bright red foods and sweets. Beetroot juice is sometimes used instead, but it isn't as lurid a colour.

cheers for that sarah, I have drunk that myself i was at a festival last year and they were handing out free samples and the guy told me the whole range was vegan I had stopped drinking it anyway when i found out it was made by unilever shame because all the flavours i tried were lovely

That's really bum. I got hooked on this when they were handing out free samples in my town centre, I was told it was vegan as well! Naughty lying people! x

^^yeah I got those too, outside Sainsburys. It wasn't blackcurrent though. I think it was peach or apricot or something of a similar colour.

yuck....although I'm actually allergic to cochineal anyway...and it is everywhere!!!!
