On Saturday I found myself in a Beefeater restaurant with hubbie and friends.
As to be expected there was nothing vegan on the menu. I explained to the waitress that I was vegan and she promptly fetched the "allergy book" in which everything on the menu was broken down and listed for various allergies, but also listed as vegan or not!
The end result was a delicious vegan meal of roasted veggies in a chunky tomato sauce with chips and salad.
It was so nice to have a positive experience in a "meat based" restaurant.
I was impressed with Beefeater for the consideration of vegan customers and impressed with the waitress for her help.

Still not sure I'd choose to eat there, though. Dunno if I could face the smell of the place

Well, no it wouldnt be my first choice of restaurant either, but sometimes you have to go where other people go if you are with meateaters. I agree with Squirrel. At least the waitress made an effort and everyone was happy!

I think its great that such a place like that consider vegan options for people. We shoudl encourage this and make resturants that are meat based eateries that veganism can and is a popular choice these days and open their minds , that way it will eventually hopefully make going out for meals in such restuarants when we have to go out with people who eat meat as easy for us to choose food as it is for them, rather than "can I just have a salad please" choice. If that makes sense lol.

Glad you had a good experience, Squirrel! What an awful name for a place: Beefeaters. I call men who are ridiculously muscular and veiny and ripped, Beefeaters.
