Has anybody else read this? why hadn't I heard abourt it before? I just started last night ;D i had not heard of it before, it is written by a scientist that grew up on a dairy farm, he went into nutrition to try and prove the benefits of animal based products, particularly animal protien. after his discoveries he and his family are now vegan. the book covers him, his research, the government cover ups and nutrition. read the reviews- www.amazon.co.uk/China-Study-Comprehensive-Startling-Implications/dp/1932100660/sr=1-2/qid=1159293563/ref=sr_1_2/202-0423015-4305433?ie=UTF8&s=booksheres an extract from one- ' The central message of this extraordinary book is: consume whole foods in the context of a plant-based diet. If you do you will greatly decrease the likelihood that you will die prematurely from the "diseases of affluence" that ravage our society, including cancer, heart failure and diabetes. This is a diet that makes eminent sense and is in accord with what we may surmise was the natural diet of our ancestors in the prehistory before the rise of agriculture and animal husbandry. Campbell shows through intensive and wide-ranging studies, in particular through evidence from the "China Study: the most comprehensive study of health and nutrition ever conducted," that it is a diet that will prevent and even reverse disease

Jamie, where have you been living? Under a beer rock or something? How is it so far? My mom bought it and started reading it; she said it's detailed, but easy to read. She's semi-vegetarian right now, but I'm hoping if she reads it, it will give her that push into veganism. I want to read it, eventually. I have a stack of other books to get through first. Enjoy!
