My dads just said he heard on the news that Co op might be merging with Spar, with a view to taking over Spars? He said youl be happy with that more vegan food listed and available.
Not heard about this anywhere? I would be very happy to see more Co ops about as theres none by me, and their ethics are far better than most supermarkets.
I did manage to nag our Spar manager into stocking soya milk, but be much better if it turned into a Co op!
Anyone heard anything?

I went into one of the smaller Co ops in Nottingham and asked where the hummus was and the woman goes 'whats that?' Honestly, I felt like such a Guardian reader ;D Decided not to ask for the sundried tomatoes and baby veg... Its annoying though, we used to have 2 Co op superstores in Nottingham but they've closed down and all we've got are the mini mart types. Mind you there's one of those near me. Back to your question, this is prob what he's on about www.spar.co.uk/latest_news/41/
