FOIE GRAS Day of Action !!!
Thursday 4th October.
Join in with YAFA on the 4th !
This is the day that York city council meet to decide about the future of foie gras in York and vote on a possible ban on this disgraceful 'food' - The vast majority of the people of York have standards and are disgusted by this delicacy of despair and are expecting the council to come down firmly against Foie Gras.
Will local councillors agree to dis-courage the sale of this “torture in a tin” in York or not?
Join us at 5.30 at the entrance of the Guildhall before the meeting. We will be handing out leaflets explaining the horrors behind this food item which has been dubbed the “delicacy of despair” and show support for the campaign against foie gras.
Paul Blanchard, the City of York Councillor, has worked like a political dynamo to raise awareness about the pure torture involved in the production of foie gras - and thanks to Paul Blanchard, the council now has the chance to VOTE AGAINST FOIE GRAS.
Join with YAFA and show your support for the campaign against Foie Gras and lets make York a Foie Gras free place to live.
Foie gras - French for fatty liver - is produced by forcing metal pipes down the throats of ducks and geese and force-feeding them until their livers become diseased and unnaturally enlarged. In many cases, this causes their organs to rupture.
Foie gras is banned from being produced in the UK, but one hotel in York stills sell it - What kind of honorable, decent business would sell something in the UK that was illegal to produce in the UK? - Anyone that continues to sell foie gras should be ashamed of themselves. FOIE GRASS IS ILLEGAL to produce in the UK because of the excruiciating pain, cruelty and torture involved. The council surely must SAY NO to foie gras.
