www.speakcampaigns.org.uk/diary.php#georgeGEORGE WEEK OF ACTION: Monday 4th September - Saturday 9th September The week of action will extend from Monday the 4th September through to Saturday 9th September. No matter where you are in the country or even the world you can take part in this important week of action against the animal abusers working inside Oxford University. The week of action will culminate in a mass leafleting session on Saturday 9th September in the centre of Oxford in order to inform the Oxford public of the atrocities taking place inside the university and to inform people as to exactly how their taxpayer’s money is being spent. Over the next 2 weeks we will be posting information that will allow you to organise your own events in whatever area you might live, including information for our International supporters. However, if you are able, please also come to Oxford on Saturday 9th September in order to leaflet, so that the truth about the horrors inflicted on George and thousands of other animals like George can be told. Meet 12 noon, Saturday 9th September The Church of St. Michael Cornmarket Street Oxford OX1 3EY

I would, but I'm stuck at work that day and haven't been able to get out of it. Although having said that. I did my knee in last night and am hobbling around. Tempted to do a sickie.

A group of five of us went to Abbingdon first, and leafleted in the shopping centre, then we went to Oxford. We couldn't find any other protesters. MaisiePaisie was around somewhere looking for others as well.
We were about to give it up as a bad job, when the police latched on to us and started following us around. We played with them for a while leading them around the place and splitting up and doubling back, etc, until we lost them. Then we had an impromptu march through the centre of town, chanting and holding placards, with no police around.
We were then headed back towards the car when the police picked us up again and we led them a merry chase again. Eventually they decided they had had enough and got very aggressive and told us to stop messing them about and leave Oxford. We politely pointed out that they hadn't issued us with a section and they couldn't do much without one. So we messed them about some more and then sat in a pub for a while.
