Part of me thought about doing that, or emailing her, but if you can imagine the personality of her.......... Ex police officer with the attitude "It's my way or the highway!"
When I went to say my point yesterday she completely ignored me......... Oh and veggies and raw foodists according to her are ill people also and strange.
Wish there was some nice vegan course I could go on or at least vegan friendly.

She isnt sounding like a great person. I never understand closed minded people, if they open there ears and try to listen maybe they will learn something. GGGrrrrrrrr If you do find a nice vegan friendly course let me know as i need a new career soon.

ROFL at the hot chilli powder.
Just been looking on Google, trying to find a decent naturopathic course, but can't find any. Am sooooooo tempted to drop out, but don't really want to be back at square one again.

Am thinking of doing this one as you can either do it full time, part time, combination or distance learning and you get a BSc.hons with it. Looks quite dear but a good course, but would be able to do it in my spare time (at work!!!) rather than committing to a certain time. Puffin, you may be interested in this one: www.bcnh.co.uk/

Tigs, she may be trying to provoke you and other vegans, don't let that get in the way of getting qualified.
Me I'm thinking I could become a hypnotherapist.

That would be a great job Maya!
Applecrumble. You're right. I shouldn't let people like that stop me getting the career I want. I'm just really peed off about her attitude.
If you can be a hypnotist, can you hypnotise her into saying nice stuff about vegans, and actually going vegan!

If you can be a hypnotist, can you hypnotise her into saying nice stuff about vegans, and actually going vegan! Maybe. You can't hypnotise someone into doing something they don't want to do, so it depends on her wanting to appreciate vegans. Yes if she repeats to herself daily "I am a kind loving person" and "I am attracting vegans." How you can work on making people well whilst despising them I do not know. Frankly IMO people that come out with such provocative stuff have issues. Often they'll provoke people into having a go at them, then they feel victimised and complain about how inconsiderate and rude people are. Now who are they talking about?

Definitely, couldn't agree more, AC.
Well, have paid out for this month's fees. Just hope I'm doing the right thing. I knew the course wasn't going to be a vegan course, but did expect us to be treated with respect.

Tiggs, if you fancy making a complaint about the tutor the new Employment Discrimination (Religion and Belief) Regulations also apply to vocational training. Not absolutely sure your course would count as vocational training because it may be strictly defined but have a look at this link. Not had time to lok through it all meself. www.wmin.ac.uk/page-4629-smhp=595

What a lousy lecturer. Any decent lecturer would welcome to chance of a discussion on the subject, not behave like a sulky 5 year old! Unfortunately some of these so called lecturers can't bear to be challenged.

Thanks Veggie and Squirrel.
I had a nightmare yesterday about her yelling at me in class for posting this on the forum!
Still don't know if I want to go back. I want to do the distance learning course but it costs soooo much money.

GRRR! Well I was at college yesterday and all our lecturer could go on about was "bloody vegans" that looked ill and was mocking them. Am beginning to wonder why I paid out for this course when all the money goes to this woman each month. Am so mad and when I went to politely speak out, she turned her back on me. Mad, mad, mad! Oh Squizzaroo, the qualification I will get at the end of it will be a diploma in naturopathic nutrtion, although the mood I'm in, don't know if I want to be helping people like her profit! My uncle's girlfriend is a air hostess, or whatever they are calling them these days and she told me that I looked moderately healthy for a vegan and that the majority of vegans that shes encountered on flights are "insipid, pallid creatures who looked like their bones were crumbling away".!!!!! Daft fecking sow! (((hugs to Tigs)))) hope it has got better.

Tigs, I'm not clear if this is a course done by an individual, a private something or other, or in some way public? Makes a difference to how respond, what I mean is whether lecturer has to meet standards or not, is answerable anyone?
I'd be pissed off with being treated that way, but I'd be more pissed off if I let myself get forced out, esp if that's what she's angliing for.
In some ways it's could be better if someone else raises the subject, i saw this happen once at a meeting when someone tried to make it sound weird to have soya milk at an event, before i could say anything someone else piped up to say cheerfully "oh I'm a soya milk person." That stopped that discussion, no one wanted to say she was weird.

That's very true apple, I regularly speak up for other people's benefit, it's always easier to stick up for others than yourself I find. Tigs if this course is being run at a college you have a right to report thie tutor, her behaviour is totally unacceptible

Tigs, sounds like this bothers you. You have tried speaking to her and that has not worked. There are choices about where to go from there.
I've reread the thread and I realise that this woman must hold a professional qualification in her field, and possibly another in some form of teaching. What she is saying about the vegan diet is factually wrong, and that cannot be acceptable to her accrediting body or any educational body or course she works for. If it goes on it could result in loss of confidence in teacher, course and accrediting bodies.
