I have just dropped a furious 6 ft 15 year old off at school. His dad woke him up shouting at him this morning and told him if he didnt go to school all his internet priviledges would be stopped, no lifts, no pocket money etc. so I was woken up to the sound of shouting and swearing this morning.
My husband left for work, so I had to persuade Stevie to go. Unfortunately since he had sworn at a teacher the day before and he had her first lesson this morning he was less than keen.
I drove him to school and he didnt say a word, I watched him get out of the car and I really cried for him. He is such a tall and handsome kid. He has my jaw line but it looks better on him. You would know he was mine if you saw him. Unfortunately he is just the same as I was at school.
I didnt want to make him go today because the mood he is in I can see him punching someone. I had to though as my OH made such a fuss about it. "in my day if I had spoke to my parents like that my dad would have taken the belt to me" etc. etc., and Im like f*ck off and leave the kid alone!!
Im sitting here and my head is pounding. Im waiting for a call that says hes walked out again or worse.

aww Tabs ((hug)) you have my sympathies as well, my eldest is just turning into kevin the teenager - all huffing and puffing, needs crowbarring out of bed - my husband gets along with him fine most the time, but on occasions it escalates mostly over not getting up and getting ready for school, and I also think to myself *jeez just leave the boy alone* I cant help it, I butt in and we then end up having words. Result - one even more stroppy lad muttering under his breath and two hot headed rowing adults!

(((Hugs))) to Tabi. Teenagers, eh??? ARRGH!
If it's any consolation, am sure it's just a phase and he will grow out of it.

Look Pob! I really dont think you should judge me on this. Ive had a bad day and the nearest thing to heaven I can think of at the moment is two Linda McCartney pies and alcohol injected intraveneously into my veins. *squares up to Pob*

My son has been into school once this week. He is going in for first lesson to clear his locker out and thats it!. As from September he will be at school for 3 days and work experience for the other two. Im hoping this will be a better situation for us all. The trouble is he has a sideline "career". He books bands for a few local clubs and he knows he can make money from flyers, promoting the bands etc, so is reluctant to give this up. I am reluctant to make him give it up because it might turn into a career for him later on. He has a gig on Friday night. The band have requested vodka and sandwiches. Guess who gets to make the sandwiches! My initial comment at the vodka was "Theyre not Guns n Roses"!!!! I may supply m & ms with the brown ones removed or something...... Someone else post teen woes so I dont feel like Im the only one in the world..... ;D

Okay here is my teen woe - you know when ,as a mother, you just know a situation is going to end in tears...... Eldest Son's Friend's girlfriend (are you following this LOL) keeps ringing my Son , like constantly, I can see trouble brewing! Ive tried to give gentle advise (read as stick my big nose in ;D ) and tell Son that its not a grand idea to keep nattering to his mate's girlfriend on the phone constantly, and sooner or later his mate is going to get cheezley'd off with it big time! will he listen? - will he eck as like! (oooh I came over all corrie then LOL) If they arent on the phone gabbing, they are on msn gabbing.

My son stole his best mates girlfriend, thats why her mum doesn't like him. No morals whatsoever that boy. My 11 year old just told me last night that he's planning to ask this girl out. Ahh... young love, isn't it sweet

Well I'm at the point where my mum & I are swopping roles, which means I'm gettin old... seriously she's as mad as a bag of squirrels and I have a hard time keeping her in check ;D Tabs I'd really try and find out what qualifications/courses would benefit your son in the promotions business... they've started a degree in events organising here, there might be some good college courses on the mainlaind which could teach him how to balance the books, taxes etc and things like the legal side of things... might give him something exciting to aim for in his exams.

Tabs, remember that loads of further ed colleges do part time courses. Like Fezza said, get him on a business based course 3 days a week, let him do his business the other 2 (4?) and he'll be as right as rain. You'll be on the guest list at the new Wembley Stadium in no time.

Whose Snark? Can I love him too?? ;D Snark refers to a belittling style of speech or writing. It could loosely be described as irritable or "snidely derisive"; hence, 'snarkish', 'snarky', 'to snark at somebody'. (The Urban Dictionary refers to it as a contraction of "snide remark".)
