I am in Mayola heaven, ;D I discovered their vegan mayonnaise today and it is fantastic. There were two to choose from , so I got the one that said with added flax oil and becuase it had the suitable for vegans label on it. I have tried all the other vegan mayos around but never liked any of them, until now.lol. Has anybody else had this? It is made by granovita. My vegan bloke loves it too lol. www.granovita.co.uk/search_results.php

Sainsburys sell this one - it's consistency is more like mayo than other ones

I have tried that one and wasn't too impressed, but I hadn't been vegan for long. I liked the garlic Plamil one, but not the plain one.
I might try the Mayola one again - it would probably work well for making dips.

Little bit of bad news I'm afraid. Just got my copy of 'Ethical Consumer' mag and Mayola is made by a subsidiary of a company called De-Vau-Ge Gesundkostwerk Gmbh, subsidiaries of which have been hauled up for breaching the International Code for marketing of breast milk substitutes, which of course is what we avoid nestle for. No idea whether they are as bad but thought you would want to know.
Plamil got the best mark of 16/20.

Veggiewoman if you like it and nothing else tastes as good then I don't think it makes you a bad person if you buy it. Myself personally I try to do the best I can to be an ethical person but the line has to be drawn somewhere. For me, if a product is vegan I will buy it, even if not from an ethical company. However if a similar but more ethical product exists I will buy that instead. I know there are lots of people who are more strict about ethics than me but my this is my personal level of what I'm comfortable buying.

I didn't like the Granovita Mayola stuff when I bought it, and didn't actually end up finishing the jar. I'm all about the Plamil with garlic, yum yum!

Yeah, I wasn't keen on the Mayola one originally, and really liked the garlic Plamil one.
I've found that the Mayola one is more versatile, though, as it's a good base to make quite a few dips.

I like the life free from one too, which reminds me I need to buy a new jar!
