Went to the big shopping centre by me today, noticed a new juice bar opened so headed over. Massive choice of juices/shots, and the smoothie menu was great - they use dairy yoghurt but have a vegan alternative of dairy free sorbet also choice of soya milk in smoothies offered which is great to see! The websites under construction but im well impressed that theres soya milk and vegan sorbet on offer and you can make your own juice up, its not a set menu I had a large mango, passionfruit, oj and sorbet smoothie ;D Alison www.fueljuicebars.com/

I am very annoyed today I went to Fuel juice bar today and double checked the 'dairy free' sorbet was vegan (v.suspicious me) the member of staff said yes its ok but it does have milk proteins in Quite how i kept my cool i dont know but i did go off on one saying how can it be dairy free if it has milk in? I was getting nowhere so think I will email my disgust to the head office, possibly trading standards too. Its just not on this. Im mortified ive had a small amount of milk twice from there but wont let myself feel guilty as it was an accident. I did say to the staff what about people with dairy allergies - they just shrugged Well Fuel will get a rude email off me - well a to the point one. So please ignore my earlier positive feedback and dont have the so called dairy free sorbet! Alison

That is terrible Alison not only for vegans but imagine for people with Dairy Allergy, some allergies are life threatening! Definitely needs raising with their head office!

Ooh, let us know what they say. Have heard so many companies making similar mistakes. Realistically though, besides the whole issue of us being vegan, what is it going to take to make companies take ingredient lists in products sensibly. Does it have to amount to someone being killed through an allergy before people start to correctly label products?
