Yesterday, Richard (my lovely boyfriend) and I, and Rob and Emma (Richard's brother and Richard's brother's girlfriend) all went off for a merry veganly afternoon out to the Hillside animal sanctuary, and we all had a great time.
The weather was appropriate, the animals were contented and plentiful, and a good time was had by all - we also were there during feeding-time, which was quite nice.
I took many pictures, which i can now share with you all ~
(1) Here I am, posing goonishly with delight, in front of the snazzy food-vendor, there. I was ecstatic with glee, when presented with their selection of tasty choices - and everything is vegan !
Rob, Emma and I scoffed sandwiches and rolls with cheezly and onions and salad and things in, and went on to polish off some splendid fruit cake then had some exceedingly good fancy vegan-Cornetto things.
Everybody must pat Richard on the head symathetically though please, because he's doing a Raw diet thing for 4 weeks, and so opted to settle for just having a banana which i had brought with me.
The prices were very reasonable indeed, even compared to standard non-vegan comparable things.... and since the profit it going to help the sanctuary then you really can't lose when eating there, i reckon !
(2) Here is Richard, posing cheerily next to a small group of cows -
(3) And here's a closer shot of some of the cows -
(4) Here are some entirely different cows this time, enjoying a good nosh-up -
(5) They had some very cute little fluffy guinea-pigs...
(6) ... including one guy who was fluffily asleep inside his bowl of food -
(7) There was also a round waddling pot-bellied pig, grumphling around and making some incredible deep grunting noises -
(8)
(9)
(10) There were a few rescued turkeys...
(11) ... including some who we reckon seem to be of a less domesticated species than the other turkeys -
