I know you do, but its your house too and you need to eat. Its a big house, so I imagine theres plenty of room inthe kitchen. Buy a hand blender and make hummous in about 10 minutes. Go for it!

whats with this blender idea?? i use the back of a fork and mash the chickpeas in the tin. it is easier if you tip half out into a bowl, do half at a time. all you people with your modern technologies ;D

I think you should rebel . Open all the cupboard doors and don't close them again, then go and chop up a mango.

*Opens all the cupboards*. *Does the washing up wrong* *Overfills the teacups*. *Drips tea on floor*. *Chops up mango*. Gosh, I'm such an anarchist .

Pob is very traumatised by all this kitchen talk. I think we've gone too far

I'd offer to make him a cup of tea, but it would only traumatise him more .

I make lots of my own houmus, I soak the chickpeas usually so it can be nice and firm compared to the kind bought in supermarkets... I make mine with hemp oil usually (unless I've run out of it ) which acts in healthful ways and isn;t as fattening as if I use other types of oil.

I still can't make it taste as nice as the shop bought I'm sure it's due to using tinned chickpeas. Do they taste a lot different to dried?

Keep meaning to try making it with the raw sprouted chickpeas and see what that's like.

I keep meaning to try it with dried chickpeas, but I never remember to soak stuff overnight before I need it.
Homemade houmous is gorgeous with a swirl of harissa mixed in.
