Fred you might like croc's shoes, they're wide fitting so let your feet sit in a more natural position instead of being squashed www.crocshop.co.uk/default.asp

I got a pair of the caymen in chocolate tabitha, although I think I would have prefered the closed top ones. I had ordered the professional but they were far too big & very wide, didn't like the colour either so I sent them back with a template of my foot and they found the right size to fit ... they sent the template back inside the shoe and had written 'hope it fits this time!' lol. The caymen are a narrower fit, which is what I needed. If they're as comfortable as they're supposed to be I might order the sandals... I'll wear them a few times and let you know, if they're comfortable for me they will be for anyone as I've very tender feet.

Just to let you know the crocs are amazing! I walked all round dublin in them and was able to still keep them on in the evenings.. had another pair of shoes with me but the crocs were just so comfy... I never got a blister or ache and because they're so light I didn't get sore shins at all... I've never experienced such a comfortable pair of shoes for walking in... here's a list of suppliers www.crocsfootwear.co.uk/stores/index.php buy them you know you want to!
