Alot of the rules were suggestions Maisie, so pending on what people's opinions are before we finalise them we may change them slightly, so when we get all the mods back and can finalise the rules, I'll talk it over with them and see if we can come to some sort of compromise, such as an area for over 16s or something that people can choose to subscribe to but don't wanna say yay or nay just yet.

I vote nudity should be allowed. If its allowed at the other place it should be ok here Re the copyright rules. It is ok to post photoshopped pics here isn't it? I've wondered recently if it is legal to google for pics then photoshop them.

Your suggestion has been considered maisie. Unfortunally we're unable to grant it because it has the potential to put off/offend a lot of members & at the end of the day it's not what the site is for. As you say it's allowed at another place & people are free to go there and use that thread. I'm sure there are plenty of Internet sites to provide that sort of entertainment. Also we are not the 'other place' and do not have to conform to their.. ahem... 'standards' As for the photoshop question I imagine it would depend on the copyright rules of the site you're are lifting the images from so it's up to yourselves to check that out while you're doing it

I know we have a wide range of ages here, should the 'sex threads' be separated from the chit chat thread? - having a separate password log in - as it stands members are granted the password on merit of number of posts, and so anyone of any age could get access to the sex thread. Id certainly not be happy for my kids to read some of the posts in there, and I guess other Mums would feel the same way for there underage children too.
Have I got it wrong, does it go on age at all?

I think this forum should allow nudity. If someone is "put off", or "offended" (or whatever) they can always choose not to look at such threads. Feral said "a lot" of people would be offended, but I think only a samll number of people are offended by nudity (especially fellowvegan nudity). It is our natural state, if anything people should be offended by clothing covering up our natural state. I say put it up for vote and let the members decide. It is after all the members that make a message board what it is. Why should only a small handful of people be able to decide that for all of us? Vote on it.
This board is already better than "the other board" where you can't even talk about PETA, or AlF in a positive manner. Let's make this board better on all fronts.

As Feral said, it has been considered, and alot of careful consideration has gone into it, and from what I've seen and heard on other forums, it does have the potential to cause friction and at the mo as many people here seem to be offended about smaller issues, it's not really a risk I'm prepared to take, as at the moment, the majority is taken up dealing with conflict over here and answering PMs recently, and at the moment, all the staff here are exhausted mediating arguments that are developing over here, we really don't need another problem to add conflict over here.
I agree, there is no problem with nudity and it can be pretty funny seeing posts that do go up on various boards, but as each and every forum does have rules, much as we do like to be lenient and easy going on as many matters as possible, but I think to save more agro, for now, the nudity idea will have to remain through PMs or emails.
As for the matter of the sex thread, Lavender. I see your point. Access is only granted via being given the password to those who are over 16 and have posted over 100 posts to prevent trolls and pervs coming over here, and this board isn't able to be searched via Google, so yoiunger people wouldn't have any access. However, if anyone does feel like they would like to post on the chit chat thread, but not sex, then do make your thoughts known.

Just to clarify the photoshop question, most photos appearing anywhere, including the web, do have copyright restrictions on them. So you could be held personally responsible if you nick one.
And it doesn't take much to establish copyright, eg I have copyright over the ones on my website so you do have to check!

hi i can't help noticing rather a lot of references to a mysterious 'other' place <wonders what that could be> i will never say the word 'suck' again, even if it was only in reference to certain types of people. The rules seem ok, it must be quite difficult to sort that bit out. I don't know what to say about the nakedness bit, being a rather shy elf, but good luck with sorting that one out!! ;D
