Hi everyone
Well here I am, should be at work but have just got home. I went to do my last night at work and got to about 5 minutes from work when a DHL big 16 tonne lorry decided at 10.45pm, (now I was in stationary traffic, not moving at the head of the traffic lights in the middle land to merge into my lane and rip the side of my car off.
Luckily, I'm ok. Very shaken, but the car looks a mess and can't open the drivers door. The wing and indicator and bumper are ruined. Am at home now as was too upset to go to work and have to deal with all the insurance companies in the morning. All work could say when I phoned was "who is coming to take me off so I can go home?" Not even asked if I was ok.
Anyway, am off to bed now, really peed off and to top it off my moby is broken......... ARRGH! Never rains but it pours.
What a crappy end to a day.

Thanks hun. Have only had the car a week. Dunno if it's gonna be written off or what will happen. All I could think of though was "Oh well, seeing as it's the DHL drivers fault, it will cost them money on their insurance to get fixed, and it serves them right as they supply the nasty Huntingdon Life Sciences!

Aw, you poor thing Tiggs! (((big hugs)))) Glad you are ok! Isn't it just like work to only think about work and not the actual employees? I hope you've gotten a good night's rest and wake up refreshed and clear-headed. Take your time getting sorted and making sure your health is first.

Thankyou so much everyone for all your good wishes.
Just been to have a look at my car and it looks a right state. Dunno how I got it home.
Am having fun at the moment, in a queue with depressing music to my insurers and been passed from pilar to post with DHL who still somehow haven't processed my claim and will take up to another working day. What about my courtesy car!
Still shouldn't complain really, was very fortunate as if the lorry had moved another few inches forward it could have been alot worse so I should count myself lucky really.

Wish I had said that my neck hurt when I spoke to them as it has started to this evening. Then again I think I'm coming down with the flu as am aching everywhere and feel really run down.
Could do with a nice bit of cash though. Am waiting for the drivers report to be aggreed that it was his fault now as until that's aggreed I can't have a courtesy car or get my car fixed as I wasn't fully comp.
How much more obvious does it have to be that if I was sitting still in one lane that it is a foregone conclusion who's fault it was.

DHL lorry drivers response: He hit my vehicle, yet it wasn't his fault! ARRGH! Has delayed my claim even more! How can you hit something without it being your fault! Am waiting for their insurance to get back to me as they keep trying to contact him to find out why the hell he has contradicted himself, but he seems to have gone AWOL!

Just had phone call fromt the insurance, he states that I cut accross into his lane and hit him!
Am so upset as I was stationary and not moving and now have an undrivable vehicle and only third party insurance.

Oh no! Were there no witnesses? Don't let him get away it. I'm sure there will be evidence that you were stationary.
