Theres a new cat in my house The humans bought him home today. He is very fat and ginger. Hes upstairs at the moment. Hes shredding paper in the cat carrier and making a lot of noise. Ive been upstairs to see what food the man and woman have given him and its ok. Its stuff I dont like. He also has the inferior litter tray thats been in the garden for months. Im laying on my activity centre trying to pretend Im not interested. The man and woman keep going upstairs to check on him, but he wont come down. They say his name is Patrick. *sniggers*.

Its like a married couple who are not talking to each other at the moment! Patrick is upstairs hiding and Soj is downstairs glaring! Theyve not had a ruck or anything, but Patrick just wants to hide away in a little corner. We are trying to coax him out because I want to make sure he knows where the dirt tray and food is. Pob is upstairs at the moment hand feeding him biscuits. He is very friendly, just a bit scared of Soldier (who wouldnt be). Soj is sitting down here clutching his cat nip toy as if to say "well, hes not having this!".

Well Pat the Fat Cat spent the night under our bed and Soj spent some of the night on top of the bed and some of the night patrolling around the parimeter of the bed. Patrick has discovered the window ledge and has been watching birds. He hasnt really eaten much and Im not sure if he has used the litter tray. I think he may have weed in it this morning and then Soj covered it up for him! But its very much Pat upstairs and Soj downstairs at the moment. Bit like my marriage really...... ;D
Tis nice to have a ginger boy in the house again. He really is enormous!

Patrick still wont come down stairs on his own, but hes coming out from underneath the bed and spending most of the time looking out of the bedroom window. Hes eaten a little bit, but not an awful lot. Soldier and he seem to be ok. They have a good sniff of each other. They were both on the bed together just now eating cat nip treats! I dont think they are that bothered. Might just work out ok when Pat gets a little bit braver.

Dont worry Sluggie, the fact that the great fat bird brain doesnt appear to know what a litter tray is, is an enormous fact in my favour.....

Patrick is becoming a little less nervous. He is very affectionate and will rub up against you dribbling furiously whilst padding you adoringly. I can pick him up and tickle his tum. Soldier steals his food and Patrick whacks him round the head, but Soldier seems to just ignore this!
He is an utter nightmare when we go to bed though. Yowls all night long. In the early hours of this morning he was meowing so I got him onto the bed and tried to settle him down with us, just to shut him up so I could sleep (we have no doors that shut in our house, so couldnt lock him out). He settled for a lil while, then just purred and dribbled over me for the rest of the night. (At least I think that was Patrick..... ;D) I was quite glad to get up in the end!
