up till yesterday i knew how to use most of IE options ; now it's a new version, dunno if my wife have asked for it or just did it automatically (am on her laptop) and now i can't find anything i need ! will have to look at it tomorrow when my brain works better It sounds like you just installed IE7. At the top right corner of your screen you should see the word 'Tools'. Next to that there should be a double arrow >> If you click on that, you can select 'Help', then 'About Internet Explorer'. That will tell you the version number.

I don't think so coz a) no help appears in the tools & b) there's a icon saying "get IE7 now" up till yesterday i knew how to use most of IE options ; now it's a new version, dunno if my wife have asked for it or just did it automatically (am on her laptop) and now i can't find anything i need ! will have to look at it tomorrow when my brain works better It sounds like you just installed IE7. Wabbit you really are better off getting IE7, it's easier to use and more secure, esp if you use myspace. Sounds like you have it installed? Initially it doesn't show some of the menus that were visible in IE6. Just go to Microsoft updates update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-usand they quickly scan your computer to see what updates you have and which ones you need, then there's a quick download, and you can see a list of the updates you've already installed. Seriously, a few minutes to sort this out is quicker than having your computer go down with an infection or having it spy on you, or be used to send spam.

Yes, look at the earlier stuff about Firefox, it is better, BUT you need the windows updates - they fix big security holes in Windows, without them you are inviting in all kinds of bad programs.

Humph. Someone's taken the user name 'Sluggie' at MySpace, and it looks as though they've never used it either. *grumble*

Yeah, I'll have to have a think about it. I probably shouldn't sign up for it anyway. I've already got too many websites on the go.
